How To Backup Whatsap Chats and Media To Google Drive

After going to and fro for a while, WhatsApp has finally added Google Drive support for WhatsApp. Since WhatsApp is the most popular and reliable chat messenger today, this new feature is worth looking into for all classes of users.

WHY THIS IS HELPFUL?

Earlier, while switching between phones, you had to manually carry the WhatsApp folder to the new handset, if you wanted to keep the backup. Now you can back up all your data to the cloud and simply relax.

Also See: How to Download and Install iOS 9 on Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

When you download WhatsApp to a new phone, It will first scan local storage for a backup folder, then it will automatically check Google Drive linked with signed in account and prompt for your permission to restore all data.

HERE IS HOW YOU SHOULD PROCEED

Step 1: Download the latest version (Version 2.12.306) of WhatsApp from the Official webpage.

Step 2: Copy the APK file from your PC to Phone, anyway you like.

Step 3: Now open any file manager and tap on it (make sure to uncheck box in front of unknown sources in settings>> security first)

Step 4: Once you have installed the latest WhatsApp, it will prompt you to set frequency of backup to Google Drive. You can also head to Settings>> Chat>> Chat Backup to toggle other options like “Include Videos” and “Back up over WiFi”

So that’s it. You are done. If side-loading WhatsApp APK feels like too much work, you can of course wait for the update to rollout via play store.

How to Download and Install iOS 9 on Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

iOS 9, the latest and greatest version of Apple's operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, is now available for download. If you've been wondering whether your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is eligible for the update, and/ or how you can download iOS 9 on your Apple device, or how to take a backup of all data on your device before you install iOS 9, we have you covered.

Will my iOS device get iOS 9?
If your device is running iOS 8, then it is eligible for the iOS 9 upgrade. This year Apple hasn't discontinued OS upgrade support for any devices, but some features such as split-screen multitasking for iPad will only work on the newest devices. The following iOS devices will get the iOS 9 update. The iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPad mini 4 will ship with iOS 9 pre-installed, and hence don't appear in this list.

Backup
While the iOS update process is usually very smooth, it's still recommended that you take a backup to ensure that your data is safe. Here's how.

Also See: iOS Application Development Company

You can do this via iCloud or iTunes, but we recommend that you do it via iTunes, because it doesn't require an Internet connection. Here are the steps to take a backup of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:

1) Connect your iOS device to a PC or Mac.

2) Open iTunes.

3) On the top-left (to the left of My Music), click the icon that represents your iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch icon).

4) Under Backups, you will see the sub-head Manually Back Up and Restore.

5) Click Back Up Now to start backing up your iOS device.

Also see : mobile application development companies

Once essential data from the default apps has been backed up, iTunes will ask you if you want to transfer purchases. This backs up all apps installed on your phone, along with data downloaded within those apps. To do this, you will have to sign in with your Apple ID.

If you don't have access to a computer, then you can use iCloud Backup. Only 5GB is free and you'll have to pay Rs. 60 per month for additional storage on iCloud.

1) To start backing up, on your iOS device, go to Settings > iCloud > Backup.

2) Turn on the switch marked iCloud Backup. You'll get a warning telling you that your iPhone will not back up to your computer automatically. Tap Ok.

3) Once iCloud Backup is on, tap Back Up Now. This will start backing up your data to iCloud.

Wait for the backup to finish before proceeding further. You should see the Last Backup time (which should appear right below Back Up Now) correspond to something recent once the backup is completed.

Delhi Government to Relaunch PoochO App, Cover 90,000 Auto Rickshaws

Delhiites will be able to book auto rickshaws using their smartphones by the end of this month on the lines of app-based taxi service providers in the national capital.

Transport Minister Gopal Rai said that government will bring all 90,000 auto rickshaws under the existing PoochO app developed by Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System (DIMTS).

In July last year, Lt Governor Najeeb Jung had launched PoochO app which allows people to access the DIMTS database of registered drivers' mobile numbers and call them up to book a ride. However, most auto rickshaws could not come under this app.

"We have decided to relaunch PoochO app with additional features on October 22 through which people can book auto rickshaws using the same. All the city's autos will come under PoochO app," Rai told reporters in New Delhi.

PoochO app can be downloaded on phones from Google Play store and thereafter, people have to ensure GPS of their phone is on and can find out auto nearest to them.

According to the minister, government will on October 15 announce a mobile number on which drivers of auto rickshaws will be required to send their mobile numbers so that they can register themselves with PoochO app.

"We have got to know that the several mobile numbers of drivers, who were registered with this app, have been changed. We will ask auto drivers to send their new mobile numbers on the new DIMTS helpline to be launched on October 15 so that they can get passengers through PoochO app," Rai said.

The transport minister also said that government Thursday held a discussion with representatives of auto unions who put their suggestions to make this app better.

"A presentation was also held on this issue today. We got suggestions from auto unions and we will consider them," he added.

Samsung Launches Its Own Curated News App for Galaxy Devices

Samsung in partnership with Axel Springer, a digital publisher in Europe, has announced Upday, an aggregated news content platform for Galaxy devices. The news aggregator platform launch from Samsung comes few months after Apple announced News, an improved app replacing Apple Newsstand for users to keep up with news and articles.

(Also see: 'Internet Firms Discuss Free Wi-Fi Facility With Delhi Government')

An early beta version of Upday will be available to download via Samsung Galaxy App store and Google Play (though limited to Samsung devices) starting Thursday, but will be limited to select regions, and initially only for select customers in Germany and Poland. A full service launch in more regions is likely in early 2016, according to Samsung.

"Upday will offer Samsung customers access to a range of news content that combines 'Need to Know' information selected by a local market editorial team and 'Want to Know' information, an algorithm-based service tailored to customers' individual interests," said Samsung in a press note.

Both Samsung and Axel Springer stress that the content in Upday will be designed to meet the "rapidly-evolving needs in an increasingly mobile-centric era"

Reuters notes that the newspaper publisher Springer owns several publications in Poland, and now makes about two thirds of its sales and three quarters of its core profit from digital offerings.

Commenting on the announcement, Young Hoon Eom, President and CEO, Samsung Electronics Europe, said, "With Axel Springer's digital publishing heritage and our mobile expertise, we're confident that together we can deliver ground-breaking content and services that will excite and delight our respective customers."

Mathias Dopfner, CEO of Axel Springer said, "Over the past few years, there have been many occasions in which Axel Springer and Samsung, one of the world's most innovative consumer electronics companies, have exchanged views on the fantastic technological opportunities for journalism in the digital age. These discussions have now resulted in this exciting strategic partnership. It is a privilege to be collaborating with Samsung to bring creative new services to the market in 2016 and beyond."

Delhi Police Launches Trial Version of Its 'One Touch Away' App

Delhi Police chief B.S. Bassi on Friday launched a trial version of the much-awaited mobile app "Delhi Police... One Touch Away" aimed at reducing public inconvenience and dissatisfaction with police functioning.

"Our endeavour has been to identify areas where newer means can help in reducing public inconvenience and consequent dissatisfaction with police functioning. One such area for the public is how to reach police in various situations," Bassi said.

"The app will facilitate access to all services provided by Delhi Police with just one touch," he said.

The mobile app - currently available only for Android users via Google Play - will act as an umbrella to all the previous Delhi police mobile applications, websites and services.

A police statement said the user-friendly mobile app "not only provides contact details of police officers (dealing with the public) but also has provision to disseminate information (documents, photographs, audio or video) to various predefined groups in police".

"Through this app, information like police advisories, traffic alerts, safety tips, missing people, wanted criminals and terrorists can be obtained with a single click."

The app also lists police officers along with their contact numbers, designations and photographs.

A senior police official said that since the concept behind the app was to create a single platform for the convenience of the public, and as such it provides links to all police websites, apps (Lost Report, Traffic App, Himmat App) and other services.

How mobile apps are changing the world?

There are unbelievable things taking place in the world of mobile application development. Developers, with their creativity and vision, are finding ways to implement mobile app development technology wherever they see scope for it. And there is nothing wrong in this. Smartphones and apps are such powerful that they can handle a variety of computing tasks. Take the example of healthcare industry where these tiny applications have power to redefine healthcare services. Dedicated mobile apps for healthcare can cover a range of purposes, from remote patient monitoring to drug reference, to patient scheduling, etc.
Some mobile developers have gone a step ahead by combining entertainment, mobile technology and health. They are devising applications that serve two purposes: first they are mobile gamex and second, these apps help users improve and keep track of their health. It’s an amazing idea. Now, more and more companies in mobile software development are aimed at making mobile technology helpful for users. Today, smartphone software can be made for solving serious issues such as health, as I explain above, and education too.
Yes, it’s true that mobile game can also help in solving serious issues. The right and dedicated mobile game app developments can not only cover the requirements of schools and colleges but can also behave like training tool for the employees of a company or business. Mobile based learning applications are influencing experts from a lot of fields such as science and engineering. Instructors from these fields have spotted mobile apps as a useful tool.
Similar to this, mobile game based movie promotion is also coming out as a trend. It’s rather interesting that one entertainment medium is taking help of other. Yes, mobile applications are also affecting cinema and television. Directors and producers of movies and television series are launching mobile games which are based on their movies and series. And interesting thing is that, this approach is working.
Not only intangible but tangible things are also being promoted and marketed with help of mobile apps. Take the example of real estate. Dedicatedly designed mobile applications are turning out to be great help for real estate industry too. Real estate agents are getting these apps to attract clients. As a crucial tool, real estate applications help real estate agent control their content that they want potential customer to see. These apps can be added with features like dedicated search and result, interactive property browsing (even with using 3D technology), localization of information, etc.

Top Eight Reasons Why Users Hate Your Mobile App

There are millions of mobile applications currently present in the market. In addition to this, there are hundreds of applications launched on a regular basis at the app store. Now the big question is; do all these mobile apps get successful response from app user? The answer is no. Some of the applications do get a positive response on app store but most of them get fail. Mobile apps development companies, while developing the application should keep some points in order to get best results for your applications.

The success of any mobile application depends on how effectively it is adapted by the users. There are no meters available in the market to display the magnitude of success of any application. But sometimes the case will get worse when the end user will start hate your application. Here are some of the reasons why user will start to hate your mobile application.

1. Weird  App functionality

It is necessary that functions which are incorporated must work be precise and accurate. Any kind of deviation from the basic functionality will lead the end user to lose the interest from using the application. Other than this, sometimes the same app gives weird results which are not welcomed from user’s perspective.

2. Too much advertisement

The mobile applications have become perfect tool for marketing any product. So there are many applications which have a lot of advertisement coming. These causes constant hindrance in using the app functions due to user gets irritated and does not use the application.

3. Unattractive User interface and designs

The theme and background of the applications needs to be selected by keeping in mind the public who are actually going to use it. So mobile applications have highly contrast colors and frustrating user interface. This will make them delete your mobile application immediately and try a new one.

4. Content and font sizes

If your application is based on theme where more letters, word, pictures and expressions are used, make sure that all the things are up to the mark. Once the user starts to hate the content present in the application, the obvious reason is that he will definitely not use the application again.

5. Lower battery backup

The most important reason behind un-installation of your mobile application by users is large battery usage. There are instances when the application is a perfect utility for the customer but due to over usage of battery while utilizing the app, the result becomes negative.

6. Time consuming applications

Most of the users require application runs quick on real time usage and does not take time to load or freeze in the middle of its usage. This causes poor impressions of the application in the minds of the people and they start hating such applications.

7. Calibration problem with apps

Another important factor identified while using most of the application is the screen-rotation as well as calibration issue. These hamper the concentration the user playing game or watching videos. These can easily be resolved by the mobile application developers and give perfect results to user.

8. Notification on every event

There are frequent cases while using an application where user gets notifications and messages from the application itself or from other pop-ups. In case of such applications, if the user is busy with important activity in the midst of the application, it can create complex problems.

These are some of the important factors which can cause the user to hate your mobile applications and give unnecessary bad reviews for your app.
